HHARRIS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgencyHarris County Sheriff's Office units are investigating a major crash in NW Harris County, outbound lanes of US-290 near Beverly. Possibly involving three vehicles, including a large truck and an RV. Due to oil, gas, and propane tank being involved, a Hazmat team has responded. All lanes are shutdown, starting from the Roberts exit ramp to the entrance ramp. Crash site is spread over approximately 300 yards. We’ve had cases where the scammers would pose as HCSO deputies, and contact victims by phone, claiming they have arrest warrants for missing jury duty. They then coerce victims into paying fines to avoid arrest, often through unconventional methods like gift cards or Bitcoin. If you believe you're a victim of this type of scam, please call 713-221-6000. Remember, the HCSO will never contact you by phone for missing jury duty. "Both of these men are facing up to life in prison.
